Fundraising concert
We regret to announce the postponement to 2010 of the concert due to be held on 6th December 2009. The organisers have informed us that all ticket monies will be refunded and our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks to all those who have recently donated to the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal
We would like to acknowledge the very generous gesture of the late Mr David Burgess (pictured left - 28/11/1925-5/1/2009 with Mrs Ruth Hutchinson) who bequeathed £5,000 to the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal. He first heard about Mary Seacole 30 years ago through his great friend Mrs Ruth Hutchinson (pictured right with Lord Soley at the House of Lords in November 2009).
In addition we would like to thank all those who have recently donated to the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal. It is impossible to mention everybody but in the last month or so they include those who attended talks about Mary Seacole and donated over £1,000 during October, Black History Month; Cleo Sylvestre, actress and Ambassador to the Appeal who raised money for the statue campaign from performances of her Mary Seacole monologue, and the UNISON branch of Guys and St Thomas' hospital for their generous donation of £300.
